Lesley Donald has sent in this picture of the fishing club her dad was a member of. She thinks that most of them worked at the power station. Lesley's dad, Gerald Nutter, loved his fishing and was at the side of the Trent every chance he had. Gerald is the dark haired one behind the man in the light jacket. Standing behind to the left of the man in the light jacket is Stan Roberts, a mate of Gerald's. The man in the dark suit with the flat cap is Fred Bennett. The picture was taken in the churchyard at Wilford. Lesley's mother, Jean, has written to tell me that 4th from the right on the second row is Danny Sansom. 5th right on the same row is Freddie Cordon. Ron Hurst is 4th right on the 3rd row between Danny and Freddie. If you know any of the other men in the picture why not let us know who they are at the usual address. |
One of the nearest places Meadows folk could go to get away from it all was Trent Embankment. Summer days would see families out feeding the swans, taking boat trips or even hiring a rowing boat. Nearby there was also the paddling pool and the Memorial Gardens.

| Many Meadows folk spent their holidays at Skegness or Chapel St Leonards. Ours were spent at my Aunt Joyce's hotel, The Grange, at Chapel St Leonards. | Me and my brother, Martin, outside a holiday chalet in Chapel St Leonards close to the Grange Hotel. The photograph was taken about 1961. |

| Although not wearing their football kit, we think this is the Bosworth Road School football team, or at least part of it. The photograph was taken in 1968 on the school playing field. The large workshops of the Royal Ordnance Factory can be seen in the background. On the back row left to right we have Martin Ellis, Paul Rowlett and Andrew Keetly. Front row are John Tutin, Tony Allen and Jeffrey Smith. | This photograph is of Martin and some of his mates. Taken in May 1968 they are, from left to right. Patrick Tooby, Martin Ellis, Andrew Keetly and Kevin Sulley. |

| This photograph of the Meadows Scout Band from the 1920's has been sent in by Terry Newham, who's father, Arthur Newham, was in the band. He's the tall lad in front of the left hand window. They lived at 14 Waterway Street. The Newham family kept the Cresent Pub in the Meadows. Terry says that the band's mace, pictured in the foreground cost £8. 8. 0. in those days. | East Notts under 11's at Bosworth Road fields. Dave Smith is front left and next to him, I think, is Steven Brindley. |
